Tint in Oil? That sounded weird and kindda hard to comprehend the whole concept of the product when I first caught gist of the fairly new lip product from YSL. Said to be an innovative product with a lip tint mixed in together with conditioning oil, it sounds gimmicky to me. But when I first tried it on at the YSL beauty counter in Japan, it was love at first swatch.
What made me fell in love with the product is how light the color appears my lips and how hydrating the oil is. Swatching it on the back of your hand will give you a hard time to decide on which colors to choose because this is the kind of product that shows up quite differently depending on how pigmented your natural lips is. So, best advice is to try them on your lips though the tint might be a bit hard to remove when trying on multiple colors.
I picked up #7 Crush Me Orange which is a straight up orange on the tube, but it became a nice soft orange on the lips due to the nature of the product. It leaves a veil of color packed with intense hydration from the oils without having that sticky and heavy feel to the lips. Once the oils has fade, you are left with a healthy, plump and hydrated lips with a sheer tint of color that imparts a very natural look. Oh and the curved doe foot applicator is another awesome innovation from the brand. The applicator conforms perfectly to the shape of the lips and the pointed tip makes it easier to apply the product within the lines.
I love this lippies so much that I picked up #6 Peach Me Love when I was in Jakarta. This product is a total game changer and a must-have in my on-the-go makeup bag.
